Daiwa Capital Markets is active across global equity and fixed-income markets. Within the equity market, Daiwa has developed a strong presence in both cash products and equity derivatives. Daiwa is an active participant in the Asia-Pacific equity markets, including Japan, PRC, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and India.

The Derivatives division of Daiwa Capital Markets is operated as a unified business line, independent of, but aligned with, equity and fixed income cash sales and trading. The division is managed with the intention of providing a seamless, cross-asset product offering. In keeping with this goal, the division develops cross-asset class risk-management, settlements and documentation systems to provide efficient client support.

Daiwa’s equity derivatives activities include product issuance and marking in listed warrants, certificates, futures, options and ETFs. Daiwa is also an issuer and market counterparty, for institutional clients, in OTC options and swaps, certificates, notes and funds.

Daiwa’s clients include Securities Brokers, Insurance Companies, Asset Managers (Mutual Funds and Hedge Funds), Private Banks and Wealth Managers, Retail and Commercial Banks and Corporates.

News – Daiwa acquires KBC’s Asian Equity Derivatives business

Welcome to a new era in investing. Daiwa Capital Markets have recently acquired KBC’s AED business.

Pursuant to the business transaction (“Transaction”) between Daiwa Capital Markets and KBC :

  • KBC will continue to issue derivative warrants and CBBCs for a period of time (“Transitional Period”);
  • During such period of time and where applicable, such warrants and CBBCs will be guaranteed by KBC;
  • Until further notice, warrants and CBBCs on this website shall be
    • - issued by KBC Financial Products International Limited;
    • - guaranteed by KBC Bank NV; and
    • - Daiwa Capital Markets Trading Hong Kong Limited shall be acting as liquidity provider.
  • After the expiration of the Transitional Period, KBC will cease issuing warrants/CBBCs and Daiwa Capital Markets will be issuing warrants/CBBCs pursuant to its own program.
